About the August Sun Film & Television Festival
The August Sun Film Festival was created to give a new voice to emerging and established filmmakers,
screenwriters, and television artists. It will be a week long celebration during the first week in August in
Los Angeles every year. The festival strives to bring together local, national and international artists, and
Industry Executives, by promoting the world's most artistic and creative independent works. There will be an
opening night party, socials after screenings each night, and a Black-Tie closing night party where winners will
receive their awards. A Grand Peace Award will be given to a creative work that promotes World Peace.
Read about us on the Jewish Journal.
The festival's goal is to encourage and support the work of
emerging artists in film and television. Numerous awards will be given in Feature and short films, Screenplays,
television pilots, and television scripts. Please see awards list. One script per festival will be given a production deal.
We also strive to bridge the gap between writer and producer, producer and distributor, and bring together artist and
Executive in a comfortable atmosphere. We will also hold seminars with top industry executives to help all participants
find new ways to move their careers to the next level.
Our goal is that every writer will find a production deal, and every producer will find a distribution deal. Pretty lofty goals, of course, but we aim to help the artist and executive on their journey towards fulfilling their industry goals.
